At a recent doctor’s visit I was forced to face my irrational fear of needles. Maybe saying phobia would be more correct because I almost threw up and passed out in terror. Good thing they only draw blood once a year.
At a recent doctor’s visit I was forced to face my irrational fear of needles. Maybe saying phobia would be more correct because I almost threw up and passed out in terror. Good thing they only draw blood once a year.
One thing we have learned in our family is to lie down first. That helps the dizziness and lay there for a few minutes after you give the blood. We always make sure there is somewhere for the kids to lie down before they have to give blood.
i would call a fear of having long sharp things jabbed into you a healthy fear–not an irrational one 🙂
Yes, unless you panic, scream and jump through plate glass window as if chased by zombie apocalypse. 😋
Most of the ways to get blood that don’t involve needles would probably kill you.
That feeling when the sweats come on, oh my it is the worst feeling. I have the same fear of needles and sharp objects. What a horrible feeling.
