Visually Autistic – An “Autistic Look”? -#ActuallyAutistic Conversations on Twitter

I know, technically, autism doesn’t have “a look” but there are DEFINITELY occasions where I would call myself “visibly autistic” – mostly when my guard is down or if I am suddenly overwhelmed with strong emotions – be them joy, fear, or sorrow. Anyone relate?

  1. I think in your case, you can pass for NT, though as you said, you might give it away through behavior occasionally. For many others, I can spot it instantly, just from a photograph. Many other autistics can id myself from even a great distance, as autistic, though most NTs can’t tell that I’m anything more than slightly odd.
