The Ask-Me-Anything Fundraiser is BACK!
As of today, I am releasing spots for 5 people to book one-to-one “ask me anything” sessions (limited to the first 5 people who book via the link below) as part of a fundraising strategy to try and keep the Neurodivergent Rebel blog (and all the free educational content I create) open and available to the public.
Everything is so uncertain these days.
In previous years, I’d found a career I loved, could do well in, and that suited my needs. This (finding adequate, supportive, and meaningful work) is something many Autistic and other NeuroDivergent People often struggle with.
Autistic People are more likely to be underemployed or unemployed because we are often misunderstood and undervalued by those around us. Additionally, we frequently face challenges in finding careers that align with our unique skills and needs.
Many environments do not include or understand us, and we are often blamed for struggling in environments that fail to consider our differences in their design and operation.
In previous years, I dedicated my life to creating kinder, more compassionate, and neuro-inclusive spaces (something we can all benefit from, regardless of our brain types).
I love my work more than I have loved any job before (because it is meaningful and I can see its positive impact on the people, spaces, and organizations around me), but in recent years, the tone has changed.
I am still trying to make the world a better place (because that’s what DEI&A is really about: making the world safe and inclusive for ALL of us).
However, these days, many organizations in the U.S. are afraid to engage with anything that could be considered DEI&A, due to the current administration’s war on DEI&A, which is a war on those who are most vulnerable (to whom this world is already unkind), making the world harder for all of us to survive in.
U.S. organizations are afraid to book, but I am still offering Neuro-Inclusion work to those committed to the cause.
I am still accepting clients for businesses who are brave and committed to this work, despite pressure from the U.S. government to abandon it.
There are some amazingly brave clients and organizations who’ve reached out to me recently, and I have truly enjoyed working with those groups (because the ones willing to do this work now are the ones most dedicated to doing it for the right reasons). However, many organizations are struggling right now and have shifted their funding away from education and training due to escalating costs that have risen since this administration took office.
When companies are facing lay-offs, bringing in an outside consultant can feel like ‘salt rubbed into a wound’, making team members ask, “If you have money for an outside consultant, why don’t you have money to pay your internal staff?” … but not all organizations are struggling – some are just scared.
Unfortunately, many organizations that aren’t struggling are afraid to book anything DEI&A (because they worry that these types of training could create risk by causing our government to target businesses that book them) – especially if those organizations are dependent on government grants, contracts, or funding they worry may be pulled.
I am still accepting brave clients:
If you work for one of these brave and dedicated organizations, I would love to work with you.

Update About Previous Fundraisers & Info About This Fundraiser
Last year, when I lost much of my consulting work, I launched a this ‘Ask-Me-Anything’ fundraiser, where I directly offered one-to-one sessions to the public for a rate far below what I would normally offer my corporate clients ($75.00 USD) as a way to keep this blog going (and to help us raise money to take care of some repairs we were needing on our RV home).
Throughout 2025, very few clients were willing to book my services, but fortunately, I was able to supplement my income through one-to-one fundraisers and monetization of the NeurodivergentRebel Facebook page.
Unfortunately, earlier this year, something changed.
A few months ago, Meta recalibrated its algorithm, significantly affecting the reach of my Facebook page, and also changed how it pays creators on the platform.
As a result of these changes, I am now averaging $1.25-$2.50 per post when I share original content (with many posts earning less than $1.00, even for content that takes hours to create).
Example above of a “high performing post” and the pay rate from Facebook for that content, for full transparency (technically, sharing this screenshot is against Meta’s creator rules, but since Substack is outside Meta’s jurisdiction, I feel safer sharing it here than on one of Meta’s platforms).
This year’s fundraiser is for:
Raising funds for blog operating costs (like web hosting), as well as personal costs such as dental work and a few repairs on our 25-year-old truck, as well as some repairs to our RV home (and possibly a shade structure to go over our RV, since we’re stuck in Texas, to help keep the inside of our home cooler this summer, since our RV is not well insulated and gas prices are too high for us to move to cooler weather).
Nothing too fancy, just trying to survive and get our basic needs met, unfortunately.

Let’s have a casual, one to one, conversation!
There’s a lot we can talk about in an hour, and this is your time to talk about whatever’s on your mind.
Ask me questions, info-dump about your interests, brainstorm a project you’re working on, get feedback on something.
Let’s schedule a session together.
$75.00 USD per session.
Don’t forget to add your email address at checkout (as this is how I will be contacting you to schedule our session). If you don’t submit your email, I won’t be able to contact you for scheduling.
Can one person buy more than one session?
I’ve updated my policy from last year, because people often asked me if one person can book more than one session… The answer is now “YES!”
I used to have this offer limited to the first 5 sessions, booked however my new limit is now ‘the first five 5 people booked’ (not 5 sessions booked).
I’ve made this change because, what I have learned is that if one person books more than one session, those sessions will be spaced out over multiple weeks, allowing me time to get everyone on my calendar in a reasonable amount of time.
The 5-person limit allows me to fit people into my schedule more easily.
If I book 10-20 people, they will all want to get on my calendar ASAP, but may not be able to.
By limiting it to 5 people, this allows me to schedule those who book’s first session within a two-week window (so people aren’t stuck waiting to get on my calendar).
In the past when offering these types of sessions, especially when I limited it to only five sessions, they have sold out fairly quickly (the first time I offered these they were gone within just a few days, with some people booking more than one of the 5 sessions I offered).
I am hoping that this change will make it easier for more people to gain access to these sessions, without having to limit these to “one per person” if people would like to book more time.
Just like with previous fundraisers this fundraiser will be sent to Substack, Patreon, and my website FIRST, and then shared with on my main social media pages (if there are any spaces left).
Can I buy a session for someone else?
YES! You CAN buy a session as a gift for another person, but please be sure its a gift they actually want first.
Can I really ask ‘anything’?
I am happy to share my lived experience with you. However, there may be some questions I do not feel comfortable answering. Though I will do my best to answer any questions that I feel are reasonable and “appropriate“.
These questions need to be about me (not people in my life who I may not have permission to share about).
So far, there hasn’t been a question asked that I wasn’t willing to answer.
IMPORTANT: While I am an open book (and you are welcome to “ask me anything”) I am NOT a medical professional and I cannot give you medical advice.
I also am not a lawyer and cannot offer legal advice.
Do you offer these calls to minors?
I’m happy to speak with young people (under 18), but please keep in mind that minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If you are under 18, you must have permission from your parent or guardian, and I will ask them to attend the session with you/stay in the room while we are talking.
This post was written with the assistance of Focused Space (a sponsor of the Neurodivergent Rebel blog).
What is Focused Space?
Focused Space is an ADHD-focused, Neurodiversity affirming, goal‑setting, and online co‑working / body‑doubling platform designed to help people prioritize, stay motivated, and bust through procrastination (and it is something I believe in and personally use every day).
More info:
I get requests (that I mostly ignore) to do brand partnerships all the time, because I don’t want to partner with products unless I actually find them useful and high-quality. I also want to work with brands whose owners and processes align with my personal standards and ethics.
That’s why I’m excited to announce that the Neurodivergent Rebel Blog is officially partnering with Focused Space, and our community members can now get access to Focused Space at a special rate of 20% off forever when you use the code “NEURODIVERGENTREBEL” at checkout via the button below or at get.focused.space/neurodivergentrebel:
Now, when you get Focused Space via the link above, you’re getting discounted access to a great tool while supporting the work I do here at the NeuroDivergent Rebel Blog.
Also, if you ever join a 7 am CST wakeup call, or pop into an un-hosted Quiet Owl session on a weekday, you might bump into me.
Not sure if Focused Space is for you?
- You can start with a free 14-day trial.
- And because this is an ADHD-friendly app, Focused Space will send you an email reminder 7 days before you are billed, so you can cancel after the first week if it’s not a good fit for you.
