Remember when I was hinting about something very exciting happening earlier this month?
We are finally at a place where we can share with you…
It’s here! I’m thrilled to announce that Rebecca Duffus and I have just signed the contract with Routledge to collaborate on a new book:
“Autism Identity & Me – A practical workbook to empower adults”

“You are Autistic.” For an adult, these words can be life-changing. But what comes next?
Learning you are Autistic is the beginning of understanding, not the end.
For years, I’ve heard from adults who, after finally they are (and always have been) Autistic, were handed a report and sent on their way (if they’re able to access diagnosis at all).
For adults, learning that one is Autistic is often just the first step on a new, uncharted path. That moment of validation is too often quickly followed by a daunting question: “What do I do now?“
Many of you have shared feelings of being lost and unsure of what to do next after learning about your brains.
You have new, life-changing information, but no roadmap. This can lead to imposter syndrome, doubt, and a struggle to integrate this new identity. This is why Rebecca and I are working to launch an adult version of our popular children’s workbook, titled “Autism Identity & Me.”
This will be more than just a book; it will be a tool designed to bridge a critical gap, and the companion I wish I’d had after my own Autism assessment, in the form of a practical workbook.
Created in response to direct community feedback on our children’s version of the book, “Autism, Identity, & Me,” the adult workbook will be designed to provide the structured, affirming support that is so often missing. The book will be a practical guide to help you:
- Process your diagnosis in a validating way, moving from confusion to clarity, and learn what being Autistic means for you.
- Combat imposter syndrome and build a positive, proud Autistic identity, while building self-understanding.
- A positive, affirming introduction to Autistic identity, helping you to find validation and empowerment on your own terms.
- Build a foundation for long-term self-acceptance and wellbeing.
This workbook will be a roadmap, designed to help you build a powerful foundation for your wellbeing, so that you may turn a moment of discovery into a lifetime of empowered self-knowledge.
Thank you to everyone who asked for an adult version (or bought the kids’ version to use as an adult). This one is for our community.
