Singing Brings Me Joy

I encourage every one of you to do more of the things that bring you joy. If I’m ever feeling down singing is a great way to pick myself up. This little tune is one I go to.

  2. I do enjoy singing too, but very closeted. I guess I’m an OK singer, but I don’t have the prettiest voice. I think you sound fine.

      1. Hah. Totally. I used to play open mic nights back in the day. I haven’t in about 5 years now. The last one I played at I got booed off stage. Killed my confidence.

It took everything I had to karaoke one of my weekly submissions for the Song Lyric Sunday challenge. Wow that was scary so I understand how it feels to make yourself vulnerable that way.

  3. I love to sing! Loud & from the heart. Unfortunately, my voice is crap & I couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket. Seriously! I have to play the music loud so I don’t hear myself.
But, I don’t care. I still love to sing so I sing. I’m not allowed to sing around Ben though πŸ™ he tells me “shhhh…shhhh…shhhh” only 9years old and already a critic.πŸ˜‚

  4. I’m woefully out of tune but I do love to sing. I am also woefully uncoordinated but I love to dance. I say dance. It’s actually just throwing myself around. It must look clumsy (and crap) but it makes me feel good. πŸ™‚

  5. I love that you get so lost in the moment of the song x For a few minutes it’s just you and the music, the outside world fades away and all that matters are the feelings and emotions that the magic of the music conjours up inside you x More music videos please x

  6. Hello! I enjoy singing too. My favorite way to sing is being on the swing and singing. I just enjoy it, like you. I don’t care if I sound like a dying elephant as long as I enjoy it. I am an 11-year-old, and you. Were. GREAT! I think it’s safe to say that you have a similar singing voice to me. Similar in some ways. And I like many songs. They inspire me.

  7. I seem to be hypersensitive to pitch, and cringe any time someone sings even slightly off key. I have almost no concious control over the pitch of my voice so consequently, not only does my singing sound terrible to others, it sounds excruciatingly painful to me. And I can’t produce a vibrato (or even fake one) for want of trying.

That lack of pitch control has also got me into a lot of trouble over the years, as people often misunderstand the intent of what I say.

    1. Hope I didn’t hurt YOUR ears then!

Some people are more sensitive to pitch / have perfect pitch for sure – I know David seems to be sensitive to pitch too – but he tolerates my bad singing (most of the time). I try to respect when he needs a break from the noise (because it’s not ALWYS music – lol).

  8. You have a beautiful tone, for sure :-)! Enjoyed listening to you sing!! Love singing, too! Do not like singing songs with high notes as just cannot sing them as my voice is more middle register so mime those, yet, songs that are suited to my mezzo soprano voice love to sing! Two songs especially love to sing are Macy Gray’s” I Try” and Here Come’s The Sun by George Harrison/The Beatles. Love to sing the Proclaimers songs also as am good at singing with a Scottish accent event though am English;-)! Keep singing with your beautiful voice :-)! Singing always brightens my mood plus helps me to rise up above the pains! Thank You πŸ™‚
