As an autistic person, I need to make sure I’m moving to help keep myself regulated.
It’s never been like me to call on a higher power. The closest I ever came was in the fifth grade when I shouted up at the sky angrily, “If you are real, now would be a GREAT TIME to do something!” I wanted to believe but it all felt like a fairy tale to me. For many years I was very conflicted over this, but as I grew up the feelings faded. Continue reading The Winding Road from Christianity to Buddhism
I have a deep love for the peaceful quiet that only solitude can create. When the dogs are sleeping, and the only sounds I hear are birds chirping, my introspective mind comes alive.
The blank in between the interactions, where I can find my true self, uncluttered by the sounds and feelings of others. This is my chapel, my holy place, where I speak with my soul. Continue reading The Quiet Place – An Addiction to Solitude
“You look like you take good care of yourself.” – What a strange thing to say to someone.
Self care is the deepest affection that you can show to yourself.
It has taken me years to get to where I am now in regards to self care. As I grow and age self care has become a much bigger priority for me.

People’s hobbies say a lot about them. In this video, I talk about my “obsessions”, hobbies, and passions over the years.
Over the years my interests have been all over the place. I learned everything about dog training in the fourth grade, and even trained cats to run through obstacles in our back yard. Our cat Rini knows sit and shake – if she gets a good enough treat. Continue reading My “Obsessions” – Hobbies & Passions Over The Years
Yoga has transformed my life (body and mind) and so it is very special to me. This is my favorite simple quick sequence. Repeat 3-5x’s for a fast workout. Continue reading Sun Salutations – Daily Yoga Routine
I’m turning 30 this week and every 5 years I like to do a little inventory of everything in my life – kind of like a life assessment.
I look at my bills, where my money is going, what I’m eating, my self-esteem, the people in my life, my activities – everything. I like to spend a lot of time in quiet contemplation as I think deeply about my goals and how I can be sure to stay on track. Sometimes old goals may become irrelevant as new goals come up. I try to think about all of these things when setting new goals for the year.
This year I am focusing on two main goals. Continue reading Talking About Turning 30 – Setting Goals & Self Improvement
